Renewable Heat Incentive
What is it?
The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (Domestic RHI) is a government financial incentive to promote the use of renewable heat. Switching to heating systems that use eligible renewable energy sources can help the UK reduce its carbon emissions and meet its renewable energy targets.
People who join the scheme and stick to its rules receive quarterly payments for seven years for the amount of clean, green renewable heat it’s estimated their system produces.
Since opening in April 2014, the scheme has already seen thousands of people successfully join and receive payments. As of the 20th September 2017 the RHI tariff for air source heat pumps is going up from 7.63p to 10.18p/kwhr. For ground source heat pumps it will rise to 19.86p/kwhr.
This is great news for the consumer and the industry.
Who’s it for?
The scheme is open to anyone who can meet the joining requirements. It’s for households and businesses both off and on the gas grid.
Two schemes: Domestic and Non-Domestic
The Renewable Heat Incentive has two schemes – Domestic and Non-Domestic. They have separate tariffs, joining conditions, rules and application processes. We administer both. You can only apply to one the schemes.

Air Source Heat Pumps use well established technology and are constantly being improved and they represent one of the most important sources of alternative energy for business and households.
Ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) use pipes which are buried in the earth to extract heat from the ground.
Mechanical Ventilation With Heat Recovery
Poor air quality is a growing problem, Nuaire’s unique paper core helps overcome this by efficiently recovering heat from rejected, stale air to heat or cool incoming fresh air.
A positive input ventilation unit is an extremely low cost dampness and mold in your home.
Warm water underfloor heating is a highly effective and efficient method of heating that is suitable for a wide range of projects, whether a new built property, renovation or single area.

SGS Energy have been supplying and fitting Gas Boilers for many years and during the time have seen them become significantly more efficient and user friendly.
Solar PV &
One of the pitfalls of installing a Solar PV array was that often you couldn’t use the maximum amount of electrical energy you were generating, which was usually in the middle of the day.
